Community Driven Projects

The Anglican Catholic Church in Tanzania is committed to uplifting its members by supporting community-driven projects designed to create sustainable economic opportunities. These initiatives are conceived, developed, and led by church members who seek to establish income-generating ventures that contribute to their long-term financial stability. Through these projects, members take ownership of their economic future while remaining deeply connected to their faith and local communities.

To ensure success, the church actively supports these projects by providing resources, capital, and training tailored to equip members with the necessary skills to run and grow their businesses. Whether through seed funding, mentorship, or hands-on business education, the church serves as a partner in economic empowerment, ensuring that members have the tools they need to transform their ideas into viable, income-generating enterprises.

At its core, this initiative is more than just economic development—it is an outreach strategy aimed at fostering financial stability and personal growth among our congregation. By engaging in these entrepreneurial activities, church members not only enhance their livelihoods but also strengthen the fabric of their communities. The Community Projects Program reflects our commitment to seeing our members thrive spiritually, socially, and economically, making financial independence an attainable reality for all.

Mradi wa Nguruwe Upendo

Upendo Pig Farming Project

The Upendo Pig Farming Project is led by a group of 13 mothers, many of whom are widows and members of the choirs of St. Andrew Cathedral in Mlali Iyegu, Kongwa. Their vision is to establish a commercial pig farming business, providing economic independence and financial security for their members.

The group has set aside two acres of land for the project and plans to begin with 10 piglets, raising them for 6–9 months before selling them for meat and breeding purposes. Their primary market will be local buyers in Kongwa District, with the goal of expanding to a nationwide market over time.

The initial budget for the project is $530, covering the cost of pig sheds, piglets, feed, medicines, and security. The group is committed to self-sufficiency and will contribute 54% of the startup costs, seeking 46% in donations to help launch the project.

Mradi wa Kuku Manyoni

Manyoni Poultry Project

In the parish of Mt. Andrea, Manyoni, a group of 15 dedicated mothers—who also serve as Sunday School teachers—have come together to establish the Ebenezer Free-Range Poultry Project. This initiative aims to create a large-scale commercial free-range chicken farm, providing a sustainable source of income while fostering self-reliance and financial independence.

The group has secured one acre of land for the project, with plans to start by constructing chicken coops that will house 2,000 chickens. Each poultry cycle, from hatching to sale, lasts six months, allowing for two production cycles per year.

This project not only provides economic empowerment for the women involved but also contributes to the local economy and supports their church through tithes generated from sales.
